Is it right to joke about Japan?

One thing on a lot of peoples minds: Japan. A country struck with not only one disaster, an earthquake recording 8.9 on the Richter scale, but also a second horror, the tsunami.

But jokes are being made on the horror that occurred that are tasteless, unecessary and to be blunt, inhumane. Well-known figures such as comedians and even Ryan Bailey, a English Rugby League player, are being called upon to apologise for comments and jokes made about the event in such a cruel manner.
